Wild Child

Sorry if this post seems thrown together/quickly written. I hadn't planned on using these photos in an outfit post--that's why I'm so serious and you can't see my shoes. :P But I want get this blog on a roll, I really love this scarf, and. . .yeah. You get the idea. My shoes are these adorable mint flats that add an extra "pop" to just anything, especially when paired with neutrals. I'll have to include them in a future post. :) Right now I'm all into earthen, organic tones--browns, grays, and clean, classic lines. It's been a lot of fun exploring different realms of my style. I'll never give up my frilly-pink-girliness, but I've expanded to include a more sophisticated, grownup look. I am in love with the animal-print trend. Accenting an outfit with leopard, zebra, or giraffe prints in the form of scarves or flats is a fun way to accessorize without looking overdone. I'm very picky when it comes to scarves (my motto is, the more minimal the accessories, the better. But that's the Italian in me, :) ) but infinity scarfs are just so chic! I got this one recently and wore it for the first time on a coffee date with a friend, then later to see The Winter Soldier. #veryimportantnote #toomanyfeels #justripmyheartoutrightnow With such a striking accessory piece, I wore very little jewelry--a silver bracelet and  hoop earrings pulled all the neutral shades together. Anyone else a silver fan? I know gold is "in" right now, but there is something so simple and beautiful about silver jewelry.

These pics were taken at a nearby "castle"--a house that was never finished, and literally built to look like a Medieval fortress. I have lots of childhood memories there, and of course, all the little nooks, crannies, and open stone windows are perfect for photoshoots!

    1. haha, that is perfectly ok! Silver jewelry is so timeless--I love it. I haven't tried any wood, but then, I'm not "full" hippie yet. ;) I DO love and wear some of the Boho look though, so ya never know. ;)

  6. Cutie! I love leopard paired with mint. I think I have the opposite problem as you - my style, (if you follow on Pinterest you may have seen) is ridiculously simple. I love basic, black/white pieces, strong, structured cuts, and an overall very classic style. I'm working on incorporating a bit more interest and colour though, to keep from looking too pedestrian! I love experimenting with unique prints in particular, and there's something so timeless about leopard. ^.^

    1. Well, I don't believe in looking TOO pedestrian! >_< (yes, that is my frustrated face. ;) ) You can never be TOO classic either. "Classic" never goes out of style, always looks ladylike, and is put-together and chic. Very European. :) I really have a low tolerance for gaudy, overdone "styles," especially the Japanese street style we see all over American stores. So Bree, I think you are doing just fine. <3
