what makes life golden | instagrammed

Good morning beautiful people! I have been super pumped, super happy, and enjoying every minute of every day to its fullest extent! I'm also taking a facebook break, so I've been taking advantage of Instagram (its kinda my obsession right now, as I think I've mentioned at least a dozen times or so, ;) ) to "update" and journal my musings. I kind of notice a "dull" tone to my photos, not the cheery, light pictures that grace so many accounts. . .but I just can't help it. I love all the editing options. . .so I tend to go for a, I don't know, "vintage-y" vibe? Anywho. So I'm typing away listening to Pirates of the Caribbean and drinking lemon water and in a few minutes I'll make a smoothie. Then its off shopping for a bit with Anna, and I need to work out when I get home. This week's jams are salmon-colored everything, (because kimonos and nails,) soundtracks, (basically the Jurassic Park theme in every version possible. . .Peter Hollens and the Piano Guys, anyone?) SMOOTHIES (what is life without them?) the blog, Musings of a Flower Child, (shout out Lauren!  Love all the fresh-prettiness,) and of course Sherlock. Oh wait, you didn't know about that, did you? Well my friends, I am a new fan.

Looking through my "treasure box," and reading all the old letters from my pen pal. Hard to imagine all the years that have passed! I was only 11 when I "met" Misty through an online pen pal site. Remember snail mail? You know, actual hand written letters? I hate the computer age. Seriously. 😐 Anywho, I think I have around 25-30 letters or more, spanning about 3 years. Doesn't like like much, maybe, but I remember being a perfectionist when it came to my hand writing, and anyway, Misty was such an amazing writer compared to me. . .so I took forever to respond. Plus she was a couple years older than me, and had this incredible life in Alaska. So yeah, she was my hero. . .and I NEEDED to impress her. πŸ˜› haha Miss those days so much! #penpal #nostalgic #childhood #letters #snailmail #ihatethecomputerage #alaska #goingtheresomeday

Merry Saturday! Quick question--what would you like to see more of on Quaintrelle? Awhile back I created a little survey for y'all to fill out, and got some great feedback. Well, new year, its summer, and though I know your lives are crazy (mine definitely is!) and there is less time for blog-reading, I'm curious. . .what do you want to see? Daily life updates? Tutorials? Health-nut inspiration? Real-life/spiritual ponderings? Articles? Giveaways? Leave me a comment and let me know! Cheers.

  1. Yay for the Pirates of the Carribbean soundtrack! My cousin and I were listening to that the other day (while attempting to make bow ties and suspenders for her brothers to wear to a ball -- scary, that was). It got pretty intense. ;-P

I love your bedroom! And aren't penpals the bestest? ;-)

    Happy Saturday!

    1. I KNOW! Its totally my jam right now. B) The movies are awesome, the music is awesome. So much awesome. ^_^

Aw, thank you! I wasn't sure how I felt about it at first, to tell the truth. There is just. . .so many patterns. The bedspread was brand new and CHEAP at a thrift store, so until I get my all-white comforter, it will do. ;)

I actually haven't had a proper pen pal in over 5 years. Probably longer, actually. I miss it, a lot. I'm not sure my life will be slowing down at any point, but if it does, I think I'd love to start snail mailing again!

  2. I love stalking people on Instagram - I do so continually, and no-one knows because I don't have Instagram. Haha. That's the way to do it. Yours is very elegant. :-)

    I LOVE your bedroom!

haha. . .welll, I'm on episode 2. Not watching it as fast as I'd like, because you know, life. :P But I really like it so far! I never got what all the hype was about Benedict Cumberbatch, but I'm totally seeing it now. He's amazing! I love the books, so the show is a real treat.

  4. This won't be much help, but I'd like to see more of everything on this blog. ;) My favorites are definitely your random posts, outfit posts, and health + beauty posts. I'd love it if you'd share some of your favorite healthy recipes and workouts, too. It's so much fun, isn't it? Of course I love indulging in ice cream and other treats, but healthy + fitness is such a fun challenge!

Love your instagrams, I really need to take the plunge and get an account. So many photographers say that it's great for their business, so that's just another reason to get one, right? ;)

ohmygoodness. Sherlock is SO incredible. The most suspenseful mystery series I've ever seen. The mix of Benedict Cumberbatch + Martin Freeman is pretty great, too. I could do without a few of the things in it, but overall I really like it! Have you seen Foyle's War? It's a BBC series set in WWII England. It's not as new or as flashy as Sherlock (haha), but it's really complex. You might enjoy it. :)

    1. Lol, no, actually it's very helpful! ;) My blog has been a bit dead lately. . .I think (I hope,) the latest post has brightened it up a little. There is SO MUCH I want to do with this blog, but its coming along a lot more slowly than I would like. Sigh. I need to stop life and focus on my blog. Eh, no, actually. . .life comes first. ;)

Whew, well, I don't really like working out. :P I thought I did, once upon a time, but now it's just a drudgery. So I walk. A lot. Maria has me doing ab workouts with her every morning now, so I'm trying again with the actual workouts. Can't be a proper health-nut blogger without a workout regime! ;) Plus I'm trying to lose weight. . .so working out is. . .helpful. :P

YES you do need an instagram, especially with all your beautiful photos! :)

I really like Sherlock so far. (see above comment. ;) ) Martin Freeman is good. . .but he'll always be Bilbo to me, first and foremost. Its like "aww, look at the cute little hobbit. . .I mean. . .doctor." :P lol Yeah, I don't like some of the, er, "references," but besides that, it is totally awesome! I haven't seen Foyle's War, but I've heard of it. If its complex that usually means I'd love it. ;) I'll have to give it a try.
